Just For Fun

Great deckled edges created by straight and ragged edges of scrap paper

Deckled and straight edges create interesting textured pages.

I have a hard time going to any art supply store without stopping by the handmade paper section. There are so many wonderful patterns, textures and colors now in handmade paper. I often walk out with one or two sheets of interesting sheets. I have recently refrained from passing through the paper section of art stores. If I do, then I refrain from buying.

It was time to make a book outside of my inventory, because of my collection of scrap sheets of paper, and my infinite collection of impulse art store purchases.

This is the (most recent) result: a simple, 164 blank paged, 9 signature square case, hard bound book. It came out well. So well, that I thought about NOT selling it. I absolutely love the cover paper. The paper industry is always coming out with new and modern handmade papers. So, if you find something unique at an art store, you may not be able to find it the next time you go to shop for it.

Whimsical red illustrations on unusual antiqued paper. I love it.

I’ve posted the book for sale on my Etsy shop. I am looking forward to making more books like this. My next “Just For Fun” book may be a round case book.
